PRIVATE FISHING ACCESS
Redhill Forest has private fishing rights on 5.5 miles of the Middle Fork of the South Platte River. The fishing is for lot owners of Redhill Forest whose name appears on the deed for the lot(s). This is a great trout stream running through magnificent scenery and is an amazing resource for our community to enjoy the great outdoors. The stream is broken into separate areas (see the fishing maps below) which have different restrictions as described below. Additionally, Redhill Forest has private access directly to a large number of public land on Reinecker Ridge.
Park County is considered to be the geographic center of the state of Colorado. The population was 16,206 at the 2010 census. The county was named for the large region called South Park by the region’s early fur traders and trappers. In more recent years, the fictional town in the animated television series, “South Park”, is located in Park County, Colorado.
The county seat is Fairplay. Park County has a significant mining history with gold, silver, lead and zinc all native to the land. Eleven Mile and Spinney Mountain state parks, as well as Antero and Tarryall reservoirs are found in Park County, so fishing is a big draw. The South Platte River also meanders through the region.

Federal lands comprise 51 percent of Park County’s landmass. State owned lands account for about 8 percent and privately owned land for about 41 percent.
